Carve your first spoon this week.
Ten printable whittling patterns, two short guides, and one order to carve them in. The pack assumes you have never held a carving knife.
Ten patterns, one order
Every sheet has front and side views, the cuts in sequence, and a difficulty rating we mean. Start at number one. Starting in the wrong place is how most people quit, so the order is the product.

The two guides
Beginners ask the same three questions: which knife to buy, how to keep it sharp, and what to put on the wood at the end. The guides answer them in four pages total.
Sharpening is two pages, because two pages is what it takes. Finishing covers sanding, oil and paint, and when each one is worth the trouble. Neither guide assumes you own anything beyond a knife and a strip of cardboard.
Pattern 01 is free
The spoon sheet costs nothing. It is the same sheet that ships in the pack: both views at true size, the cuts in order, the stages to check against. If you finish the spoon, the other nine are $9.
One pattern by email, then a short series on getting started. Leave whenever.
Buying it as a gift?
Gifted carving kits fail the same way every time: a dull knife, a first project that is too hard, a drawer. This pack starts at the easiest pattern and includes the sharpening guide for exactly that reason.
There is a cover page made for printing, so the PDF can go in an envelope. Every pattern states its real difficulty, which means the person you give it to gets to trust the next sheet too.
Fair questions
- What do I need before I start?
- A carving knife and a block of basswood. Together they cost about twenty dollars, and the knife guide says exactly what to look for and what to skip.
- I have never carved anything. Is this really for me?
- Yes. The pack was drawn for people who have never carved. The first two patterns require no experience, and the ratings tell you honestly when you are ready for the rest.
- How does the download work?
- You pay, the PDF arrives right away, and you print the sheets you want on regular paper. The file is yours to keep.
